{"Happiness Is....." mini album}

First off--Happy Mother's Day (yesterday)! Hope it was a happy day full of love and snuggling with your families. :)

It's no secret: I LOVE Photoshop. I'm so glad it was invented! Our relationship began about 4 1/2 years ago, right before I had my daughter Annie. Admittedly, it was a little bit rocky at first but soon I realized that Photoshop was going to change my life! :) Yes, that's a little dramatic but actually quite true. I learned how to digital scrapbook and make my photography better and since then I have had some wonderful opportunities and have met the greatest people, all because of learning how to use Photoshop. I could be on a commercial for it, I love it so much. :) I use it for so many different things and will be sharing more projects and ideas with you on Crafting Chicks. Actually, if you look at all of my posts here on CC you'll notice that nearly all of them are digiscrap/photoshop/hybrid related. :) I'm hooked!

Brooke + Photoshop = true love forever. Ha!!!!  (I am a total nerd)

I wanted to share this sweet little mini album idea with you today. I made it quite some time ago but found it again recently and  I still love it so much! Now I want to do one each year.

"Happiness Is...." mini album

I wanted to make a mini album with some of our favorite memories from the summer of 2008. I just had little moments with my family that made me happy that summer and I wanted to remember them. :)

I made 5.5 inch x 5.5 inch layouts in Photoshop (I used Elements 4.0 back then but currently use CS4), using DSM products plus my own photos (except the "sweet kisses" photo was taken by Michelle Coleman.) I kept the layouts really simple because I wanted the photos to really stand out, along with the sweet memories.

When finished, I printed them at Costco on luster photo paper and cut them out (I fit 6 layouts on each 12x18 inch sheet). To create the album I cut cardstock into 6x12 strips, then I punched 2 holes in the middle and created a little booklet by tying with ribbon. Then I adhered a layout onto each cardstock page.

Here are the pages that are inside. You can click on the images to make them larger so you can read the writing.

I absolutely love this little collection of simple and happy moments! You can make one too, with any collection of photos and digiscrapping goodies that you want--make a mini album with all of the fun Spring memories that you're creating right now! :)

  13. I did this for my Valentines day for my husband using a shutterfly book. My theme was "Our Love Is...." and then floated in different words on pages and pictures to match. Some of the words I used are awesome, adventurous, miraculous, exciting, etc. It was cool and I think more of a present to myself! Tehe!
