Crafty Easter Baskets {Guest Post}

Hi EVERYONE- my name is Kristy, I'm Becky's cousin. I am a stay at home mommy of a 8 month old princess, who keeps me on my toes! I love to spend most of my time outside from snow boarding to 4 wheeling. I love getting together with our families and making memories. I have not always been the most crafty person, but the more I do it the more I love to do it.

I want to thank CRAFTY CHICKS for letting me post my Easter Baskets.

Since Easter is around the corner, I wanted to create fun Easter baskets for our family.

I went to Roberts Crafts and picked up these cans, (clear 1 gallon paint cans for about $4.00 a can. You can also get all metal ones at any paint store for about $2.00)

For my husbands I used scrapbook paper and rubbed the edges with ink to give it the distressed look. Then I used Modge Podge to glue it to the can. Once the glue dried I put a coat over the paper. I also used the two sided paper and I didn't have any problems with it bubbling. Make sure you don't put the glue on the part of the can you are not covering with paper.

This one is for me. I used a combination of material and ribbon. I cut pieces of material and ribbon and tied them in knots along the handle. I squished my ribbon on there to give it a fuller look. Then just tied material on the can. (you can also hot glue it.) I tied it because I am going to use the pieces of material for head bands.

This one is for our Princess. This is all out of ribbon. I did notice that it looked better with different varities and sizes of ribbon. On this one, I used 7 spools of ribbon. I also made her a flower hair clip and clipped it on the side of the pail. The pail would also be cute to use to hold headbands, hair clips, anything!
HAPPY EASTER!
